Inspired by the great salons of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries where prominent individuals from the worlds of literature, art, music, or politics would gather at a spec
ial warm, peaceful and invitingly hospitable meeting place to amuse one another and partly to refine their taste and increase their knowledge through conversation. These gatherings often consciously following Horace’s definition of the aims of poetry, "either to please or to educate" ("aut delectare aut prodesse est"). Following in that tradition, the PPI Poetry Salon invites the attendance of those of literary genius, poets and writers, to come together on this page, to relate to poetry, writing, and one another, unrushed, with a level of comfort. We will share each other’s words, and discuss topics of and relating to us as poets and writers. So come, relax and enjoy!
